How do I activate my SIM card?
To activate your SIM visit our Activation page, and follow the simple step by step guide to complete the activation form. You will receive an activation confirmation email to your chosen account, with details of the bundle purchased, and the date on which it will automatically cease.
If you’d like to keep your number see the guide below ‘How can I keep my Number'
PLEASE NOTE. After SIM Card activation it can take up to two hours for your bundle to be ready to use (but usually within 15-30 minutes).
How can I keep my number?
Simply contact your previous network provider or text ‘PAC’ to 65075 to get a code valid for 30 days. This won’t disrupt your service. We’ll walk you through the steps to enter this code to transfer the phone number you want to keep.
What device can I use my SIM in?
Our SIMs can be used in any unlocked* device, including Mobile Phones, iPads, Tablets, Routers, Dongles, Mobile Wi-Fi devices, Car Radios, Alarm Systems, CCTV and many more.
We use Multi-SIM cards – just take out the size you need. Your device’s user guide will tell you which size to use and how to insert it.
*Need more information on unlocking your device? See our guide.
What should I do if my SIM does not connect automatically upon activation?
Most devices will locate the network automatically. However, if you are having trouble accessing the internet, please check that your Mobile Data is turned on, and configure your APN settings (see below)
How do I configure my APNs?
The APNs (Access Point Name) are the settings your device reads to pick up a data connection. On most devices APNs are entered automatically, however some require manual configuration.
Your device’s user guide will detail how to enter the APN settings. If you have any difficulty with this process, please contact one of our customer service team who will be happy to take you through the configuration. We will even jump on a video call to ensure that you are connected if required.

Troubleshooting
Why is my internet slow?
The speed and strength of your mobile data connection can change depending on where you are. For example, you are likely to have a slower connection in a busy public space than you would when you are at home. Use the networks network status checker to check coverage in the area and get up-to-date information on anything that might be affecting your signal.
O2 Network Status Checker
Vodafone Network Status Checker
If you are still having trouble with slow data connection, contact us and we’ll explore the issue further.
How do I change my age-restricted content settings?
Please send a request to us along with proof of age. We will have those restrictions removed within 48 hours.
Spam messages
Sims4Home primarily use our email service for communicating with you. We will always state our company name and the name of our team member who is contacting you.
Please read our guide to spam messages on your phone.
5G
What is the difference between 4G and 5G?
5G is the next generation of mobile technology and gives faster speeds, less buffering and more reliability than 4G. 5G speeds are around five times faster than 4G. This means you could download a full HD movie in as little as three minutes.
Latency, or lag, is much lower – down from an average of 75 milliseconds on 4G, to around 8 milliseconds on 5G.
5G has more bandwidth than 4G which means there is more capacity to use data. So, if you are in a crowded area, there is much less struggle to get signal with 5G
How do I get 5G?
You need:
- A 5G-compatible phone – up to date with the latest software
- A 5G bundle – both our Vodafone and O2 sims are 5G ready
- 5G signal – see a full list of places with O2 5G coverage / Vodafone 5G coverage
What is 5G?
5G is the fifth generation of our global mobile networking standard. It has:
- Faster speeds – download music, movies and more in seconds, with speeds of up to 200Mbps
- Lower latency – no interruptions with quick response times making lag a thing of the past
- Greater capacity – no competing for signal even in busy places
Is 5G safe?
Yes, based on research carried out by major international bodies such as the World Health Organisation.
5G frequencies are covered by safety guidelines that are based on extensive research carried out over many years. These guidelines apply to 5G as they do to 2G, 3G and 4G technologies, as well as other radio frequencies used for radio and TV.
The World Health Organisation has concluded that there are no adverse health effects to 5G exposure at levels under the safety guidelines.
